Hard to find 2 owner since new 4788 w/the 370hp Cummins (one is recent) w/low hours. Fully equipped. 12.5kw gen (also recent), 3 Marine ACs, Sat TV, Radar with large monitors at both helms, engine sycrhonizers, Forward looking SONAR, rear camera monitor, recent refrigerator, etc. Master stateroom has been opened up by elimination of the doors to the stateroom w/the upper and lower berths, which makes access to the double closet easy, and visually makes the master much larger. The bones of this boat are really good. All her systems worked fine (even horns, lights, switches, door rollers, etc., that usually don't work on boats that LOOK really good) although her cosmetics inside need updating. She has original carpet which is clean (no spills anywhere), original upholstery with no signs of pets, smoke, etc, very minimal wear and tear on arm rests probably caused by jewelry or watches. Buyer is changing it all out anyway, but it's nice to see how ORIGINAL things are so, you know nothing is being hidden from you.
No corrosion on her exterior aluminum. Rubrail not scuffed or dented up. Recent automatic fire extinguishing system ($2500.00) in engine room.
This 47888 sold because the owner accepted market value for her. It's hard to find these 4788's that don't have delusional owners asking WAY more than what comps are actually selling for. This one didn't stay on the market for years and years as 98% of all the 4788's you see on Yachtworld due to being overpriced to their condition! Once the seller got with reality she quickly sold. BTW-97's with 370's are very hard to find on 97 models!! Many had the too small 315 hp Cummin's which are underpowered IMHO. Larger HP engines aren't having to work as hard as the smaller one's to reach the same goals, which equates into less stress wear and tear.
IF you have a 4788 you're thinking of selling, then let the 4788 expert (baylinerpilothouse.com) sell your boat. I don't see any other broker actually selling these boats do you? I see them TRY with the same tired old poor effort-year after year after year. Considering I see the same 4788's on Yachtworld for 5 -12 years now unsold - this pretty much proves my point. I don't take overpriced listings nor do I use Yachtworld. I sell more 4788's, 5288's, 5788's than any broker in the world solely from my website dedicated to pilothouse yachts. "Brokers" who take overpriced listings haven't done their job educating sellers of the true market values. Either they don't know (because they haven't sold any to know!) and/or are just lazy fools!
| Cummins 370hp preferred power package for this boat . Port engine has 1808hrs and starboard has only 272hrs since being replaced (due to a "repair guy" who ran it to test a replaced part with a sea-cock closed!! . Generator was also replaced at 900hrs (due to overheating due to raw water pump failure -because most (99.99% of owners never pull off their sound shields and do the annual maintenance as the manual states. . 10/23/08 Replaced all racors and oil filters along with secondaries 10/13/09 Replaced portside raw water tube on top of starter and also rebuilt starter 10/20/09 Replaced engine zincs. These 4788's are becoming rarer and rarer to find in the condition you want to buy. The last one was built in 2002, and "time be ticking". |
