Owner who just bought a 2000 5788 from me this Spring just sent me email regarding fuel burns on his boat which has the same engines as this one: >>>>
Some comments: I am getting under a gallon a mile running both at about 840rpm and doing about 9 knots. Need a bit more experience before I am prepared to say I’ve got it down to ¾ gal/mile, but certainly less than 1 gal/mile. But here’s the thing; she’ll do the same speed, and get just on ½ gal/mile if you run her on one motor and place the other in neutral to windmill the prop. No sign yet of overheating or lube problems in ZF gearboxes, but I transfer them over every hour, just in case. My point is; WOT she topped out at 27mph; so she is no slug; but at cautious speeds, she is also no glutton. Obviously a well designed, easily driven hull; in respect of which; how much she drinks is a function of how she is driven. There will be plenty out there in “sensible” trawlers, with less space, less style, less views from bridge or salon, who are drinking more per gallon, for the same or less speed, and telling them selves how economical they are, who do not have the ability to use a 25kts + bust of speed when they have to.
I’m happy!"<<<<<<
(2nd boat he's bought from me sight unseen!- You can see why I keep saying "happy to give references")

I, Blake Davis took these photos and give her two huge "two thumbs up" as it's extremely rare to see a 5788 that's been so well maintained since new PLUS recently upgraded. A one owner yacht from Naples Florida that was sold to her current owner last year, who further upgraded the vessel by doing the following: COMPLETE NEW upgraded Vacu-flush head system including all piping, NEW state of the art Raytheon GPS/Chart Plotter/Radars at both helms. Boat was gone through from bow to stern fixing any and everything that did not work properly and updating systems as they went through. ALL professionally carried out in St. Augustine 7/06-9/06 by top notch boat yard to the tune of $40K- (details on spec sheet). I, Blake Davis inspected the vessel several times as the work was being carried out, and at her completion. Owners health is sole reason she is being offered. YOU do have to do NOTHING but write a check-everything else has been done for you-with full 2006 receipts. IF you are looking for a 5788 that is TRUE 100% TURN-KEY needing NOTHING, IN Florida "Skipper" IS YOUR YACHT! In covered slip sitting in freshwater.
