Long-range all-weather cruising yachts have always been a good idea.
That's what Trojan's fiberglass 48 Meridian is all about. It's a long-range off-shore cruising yacht, yet it maintains traditional intergrity, strength and character. It is also a thrifty boat. And unlike older trawlers, it is not primitive in tis approach to creature-comforts.

Trojan's 48 Meridian was designed by Blaine Seely. It is an extermely comfortable, all-weather, long range yacht. Innovative hull-design makes her faster than full displacement trawler yachts. She is powered by economical twin diesels. Combine that feature with her fuel-saving, semi-displacement hull and you'll easily understand how this trawler-yahct travels long distances on a shoestring. The bow flare provides reserve buoyancy which prevents plunging into head seas. It also helps keep your decks dry. Aft, the bilges flatten and harden up to increase lateral stability, so the boat has less tendency to roll, at dockside and underway. This is a rugged hull too. Total fiberglass construction strengthened by heavy timber bilge stringers. (As a matter of fact, the rugged Meridian hull is the same one used on 48' commercial fishing trawlers built by Trojan's parent company, the Whittaker Corporation.) All in all, a very responsive, very sea-kindly vessel. The Meridian is also a comfort-kindly yacht. Her Master stateroom undoubtedly rivals your own bedroom size. And it has a private bathroom with stall shower. The large, Guest stateroom has private access to a head with shower. The picture-windowed salon measures a generous 16'x12'. It is larger than the salon areas in most 50-footers.
