Description

I've toured the Navigator plant in Perris California and was surprised to discover how well these boats are actually built. They (Navigator) being a family run organization who are preoccupied with the day to day rigors of building boats, neglected to spend the time and money required to really market these boats. They've had the most basic of websites for years, and their printed material are a bad joke, as they tell absolutely nothing about the boats.

Fact is they are well built and have a hull design that allows them to run at high cruise speeds on much smaller engines than their competitors. Their hulls are NOT cored, they are solid glass, and thick. I have a hull coring sitting here on my desk and let me tell you- it's THICK!

They manufacture pretty much everything 'in-house' from fuel tanks, to railings, hardware, etc. They use an adjustable mould for all their boats from 44' to 57' so all the smaller boats are quite wide at 15' and their 57' narrow. The 46' here falls into the middle with basically the same beam as a Bayliner 47 (14'11"). What makes the NAVIGATOR unique in addition to the solid hull is the owners full width amidships stateroom. You have to get up to a Bayliner 52' to find a stateroom this large on other marques.  Huge engine rooms are also a trade mark of the Navigators, with easy access from lazarette or interior. Since the engines are small Volvos their is much room outside the engines as the fuel tanks in Naviagors are all under the lazarette allowing one to dip-stick them to check fuel and to facilitate changing them out if ever needed in the future...This fact makes for a unusually (most ALL other similar sized boats have their fuel tanks outboard the engines)large engine room.

Anyway this 98 46' Navigator is priced lowered than some fools have their old Bayliner 45's asking. $215k for a 98 fiberglass "anything" is a good ASKING price!!  It's ALL good on this yacht!  Bring an offer and let's see how serious he is.
