COMMENTS: This yacht is one of those great stories that one hears about every now and then -in the never boring world of Miami. Here's the story:. Back in 95 a Latin Art Dealer purchased this boat brand new from Boatarama with a big sack of cash. Literally the next day (before the boat was even commissioned!!) he was arrested in Cuba for smuggling (no not drugs- but Paintings!- see, so much for your "stereotype expectations of "latin smugglers!") and was put in prison IN Cuba for 5 years (the good side of the story was he went in fat & pudgy and came out thin and buff, so one CAN make Lemonade out of Lemons with the right attitude!) . While he was in incarcerated the boat was stored (as far as you can go) up the Miami River at Richard Bertram UNDER COVER -on freshwater until he was released. I then sold this boat to a client in Washington State who had anticipated trucking her back there. Within a month of buying the boat, he had a change of plans and I put the boat back on the market for him, when her current owner came along and purchased her from me. HE (current owner) is the one who first commissioned her. He added the davit on the foredeck and most all the equipment you see listed. He is the first owner who actually used her. This was in I believe 2000. Look at all the photos. This is the boat I, Blake Davis would buy for myself IF I hadn't already "been there, done that, and bought the T-shirt". IF I could magically transport it to the West Coast of America- she WOULD be mine though!
Search the world over and you won't find a nicer 4587.. that's a fact. |
